India A registered a convincing four-wicket victory against Bangladesh A at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Thursday.

In a match that was reduced to 37 overs each, India A reached the 188-run target, with four balls to spare, and with seven wickets in hand. The victory was powered, in large part, by the impressive performance of three batsmen: Jayant Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary and Shubham Saini.

Yadav scored 64 runs off 65 balls for India A, making key contributions in decisive stages of the game. Two of his four boundaries came in the final overs as he helped his side edge past their opponents.

Saurabh Tiwary, too, put on a good show, once again underlining his potential as an opening batsman. Playing a patient innings, Tiwary kept the score ticking and brought up a crucial half-century before being dismissed for 52 off 62 balls.

The performance of Shubham Saini was not to be overlooked either as the right-hander scored 37 runs off just 33 balls, shutting out any hopes of a Bangladesh A comeback.

India A were off to a promising start, thanks to the partnership of Samarth and Tiwary, but suffered a mini-collapse with three wickets falling in the space of four overs. However, Saini, who is known to be an aggressive batsman, managed to stop the slide and the team went into cruise control mode, eventually bringing up the victory with seven wickets to spare.

It was an impressive performance from the Indian unit that has thus secured an early bonus point in the Bangladeshi tri-series.

The bowlers for India A played a supporting role in the match, with Atit Sheth returning the most economical figures of 2-29. But, it was the performance of Jayant Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary and Shubham Saini that ultimately stood out and steered the team towards a comprehensive victory.
